NCAA East: Hoosiers, Canes Advance To Sweet Sixteen

Two games in the East Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament were contested on Sunday.

At Dayton, Ohio:

Victor Oladipo, who scored 16 points, converted on a three-point shot with 14 seconds remaining as the top-seeded Indiana Hoosiers (29-6) overcame the ninth-seeded Temple Owls (24-10) 58-52, spoiling a 31-point performance from the Owls' Khalif Wyatt.

At Austin, Texas:

Rion Brown scored 21 points while Shane Larkin, who added 17, delivered a go-ahead three-point basket very late in the second half, as the second-seeded Miami Hurricanes (29-6) defeated Illinois (23-13) 63-59 to advance to the Round of 16 for only the second time in their history.
