At Portland, Oregon:
Fanendo Adi (17') and Diego Valeri (74') each scored a goal while goalkeeper Jake Gleeson came up with four clutch second-half saves on Sunday as the Portland Timbers held off visiting Toronto FC 2-1.
Will Johnson scored against his former club in the 40th minute for the Reds' goal.
The Timbers will visit Vancouver this coming Saturday at 2:00 PM Pacific Time in the first of their Cascadia Cup contests (telecast over the Timbers' broadcast network with KPTV of Portland the originating station).
