Stanley Cup Playoffs: Stars, Preds Force Game Sevens In Western Conference Semifinals

Two games---both in the Western Conference---were contested as the Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Monday.

At St. Louis:

Mattias Janmark, Vernon Fiddler, and Jason Spezza (power play) each scored a first-period goal as the Dallas Stars held off the home-standing St. Louis Blues 3-2 in game six of their conference semifinal series.

The series, now deadlocked at three games apiece, will be decided in game seven on Wednesday night at Dallas.

At Nashville:

Viktor Arvidsson scored the winning goal 2:03 into overtime as the Nashville Predators leveled their conference semifinal series with the San Jose Sharks at three games apiece following their 4-3 game-six home victory.

The series, in which the home club won every game, is set to be decided on Thursday at San Jose.
