Stanley Cup Playoffs: Rangers Square Series With Penguins; Caps, Stars, Sharks Stretch Respective Series Leads To 2-0

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Saturday with four games.


EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Pittsburgh:

The New York Rangers leveled their conference quarterfinal series with the Pittsburgh Penguins at a game apiece following their 4-2 game-two road triumph.  Keith Yandle, Derick Brassard (who had two assists), Mats Zuccarello, and Chris Kreider each tallied once for the guests.  Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 of 31 Pittsburgh shots as the Rangers grabbed home-ice advantage for the series after splitting the first two games in the Steel City.

At Washington:

John Carlson and Alex Ovechkin each scored a power-play goal while Jason Chimera was credited with the game winner, a 101-foot tip-in as the Washington Capitals extended their series lead to two games to none over the Philadelphia Flyers after their 4-1 game-two home victory.  Braden Holtby saved 41 of 42 shots for the Caps.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Dallas:

Antoine Roussel (through a controversial tip-in) and Jamie Benn each scored a goal while Kari Lehtonen saved 25 of 26 shots as the Dallas Stars took a two-games-to-none series lead after their game-two 2-1 home win over the Minnesota Wild.

At Los Angeles:

Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture (power play) each delivered a goal while Martin Jones saved 26 of 27 shots as the San Jose Sharks stretched their conference quarterfinal series lead to two games to none over the Los Angeles Kings with a 2-1 road victory in game two.
