NBA Playoffs: Warriors, Pacers, Thunder, Hawks Win Series Openers

The National Basketball Association Playoffs commenced on Saturday with four games.

All series throughout the playoffs are best-of-seven.


EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Toronto:

Paul George scored 33 points as the Indiana Pacers seized home-court advantage in their conference quarterfinal series with the Toronto Raptors following their series-opening 100-90 road win.


At Atlanta:

Al Horford scored 24 points (and grabbed 12 rebounds) while Jeff Teague added 23 (to go with his 12 assists) as the Atlanta Hawks held off the visiting Boston Celtics 102-101 in the opening contest of their first-round series.  Isaiah Thomas paced the Celtics with 27 points as they tried to battle back from a 19-point deficit.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Oakland, California:

The Golden State Warriors throttled the visiting Houston Rockets 104-78 in the opening game of their conference quarterfinal series.  Stephen Curry scored 24 points to pace the defending champs.

At Oklahoma City:

Russell Westbrook scored 24 points and dished out 11 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder destroyed the visiting Dallas Mavericks 108-70 in the opening contest of their opening-round series.
