Stanley Cup Playoffs: Stars, Sharks Take Series Openers

Both Western Conference semifinal series opened on Friday as the Stanley Cup Playoffs continued.

At Dallas:

Radek Faksa scored the game-winning goal with 4:44 remaining in regulation as the Dallas Stars took the opening game of their conference semifinal series 2-1 over the visiting St. Louis Blues.  Kari Lehtonen saved 31 of 32 shots for the Stars.

At San Jose, California:

Logan Couture scored twice (once on the power play) while Tomas Hertl (power play), Joel Ward, and Tommy Wingels (empty netter) each tallied once as the San Jose Sharks took game one of their conference semifinal series with the visiting Nashville Predators 5-2.
