Stanley Cup Playoffs: Blues, Islanders Take 2-1 Series Leads; Red Wings Cut Lightning Advantage To 2-1; Predators Head Back To Nashville With 2-0 Series Lead Over Ducks

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Sunday with four games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Detroit:

Andreas Athanaslou and Henrik Zetterberg each scored a second-period goal as the Detroit Red Wings cut the Tampa Bay Lightning's conference quarterfinal series advantage to two games to one after blanking the visitors 2-0 in game three. Petr Mrazek registered a shutout by stopping all 16 Tampa Bay shots.

At Brooklyn, New York:

Thomas Hickey scored the winning goal at 12:31 of overtime as the New York Islanders overcame a 3-1 deficit and took a two-games-to-one lead in their conference quarterfinal series with the Florida Panthers with their 4-3 game-two home victory.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Chicago:

Jaden Schwartz scored the game-winning power-play goal with 13:22 expired in the third period as the St. Louis Blues took a two-games-to-one conference-quarterfinal series lead on the Chicago Blackhawks following their 3-2 game-three road win.

At Anaheim, California:

Craig Smith scored a goal and dished out an assist while Pekka Rinne stopped 27 of 29 shots as the Nashville Predators again knocked off the Anaheim Ducks on the road, this time by a 3-2 count in game two of their first-round series, which they now lead two games to none.
