Stanley Cup Playoffs: Penguins, Kings Win Series Openers

The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs got under way on Tuesday with two games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Pittsburgh:

Paul Martin and Chris Kunitz each scored a power-play goal while Evgeni Malkin added an even-strength tally and Pascal Dupuis delivered a shorthanded score as the Pittsburgh Penguins dominated the visiting Ottawa Senators 4-1 in the opening game of their conference semifinal series.  Tomas Vokoun saved 35 of 36 Ottawa shots.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Los Angeles:

Slava Voynov and Mike Richards each delivered a goal while Jonathan Quick saved all 35 shots as the Los Angeles Kings blanked the visiting San Jose Sharks 2-0 in the opening contest of their conference semifinal series.
