NBA Playoffs: Rockets Knock Off Thunder To Force Game Six; Celtics Do Likewise With Knicks; Pacers Take 3-2 Series Lead Over Hawks

The National Basketball Association Playoffs continued with three games on Wednesday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At New York:

Jeff Green scored 18 points while Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett (who grabbed 18 rebounds) each added 16 as the Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks 92-86 on the road in game five and forced a sixth game of their conference quarterfinal series back in Boston, where the Knicks, who still lead three games to two, can lock it up with a win on the road.  Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points while Raymond Felton added 21 for New York.

At Indianapolis:

David West scored 24 points while Paul George added 21 (to go with his ten rebounds) as the Indiana Pacers dominated the visiting Atlanta Hawks 106-83 to take a three-games-to-two lead in their opening-round series.  The Pacers can finish off the Hawks with a game-six triumph on Friday at Atlanta.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Oklahoma City:

James Harden scored 31 points (while converting seven three-point shot in the process despite suffering from flu-like symptoms) as he overcame ex-teammate Kevin Durant's 36 as the Houston Rockets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 107-100 on the road in game five of their first-round series.  The Thunder, who still lead the series three games to two, can finish things off with a game-six win at Houston on Friday.
