Stanley Cup Playoffs: Islanders, Habs Square Respective Series At One Game Apiece; Blackhawks, Sharks Take 2-0 Series Leads

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Friday with four games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Pittsburgh:

Despite two first-period goals from Sidney Crosby (one on the power play), The New York Islanders knocked off the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 on the road in game two and squared their conference quarterfinal series at one game apiece.  Kyle Okposo scored the winning goal for the Islanders at 12:23 of the third period as New York came back from a 3-1 deficit to seize home-ice advantage.

At Montreal:

Ryan White, Brendan Gallagher, and Michael Ryder each scored a second-period goal while Carey Price saved 29 of 30 shots as the Montreal Canadiens leveled their first-round series with the Ottawa Senators at a game apiece with a 3-1 game-two home victory.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Chicago:

Patrick Sharp and Michael Frolik each scored twice as the Chicago Blackhawks opened up a two-games-to-none lead in their conference quarterfinal series over the Minnesota Wild with a 5-2 game-two home win.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

After Patrick Marleau forced overtime with his equalizer at 19:04 of the third period, Raffi Torres delivered the game winner at 5:31 of the first extra period as the San Jose Sharks took a two-games-to-none lead in their first-round series with the Vancouver Canucks following their 3-2 road triumph, despite the Canucks' Ryan Kesler netting two goals.
