On the opening day of the Major League Baseball playoffs, Dallas Keuchel pitched six innings of three-hit shutout ball while the bullpen did the rest, and Corey Rasmus and Carlos Gomez each hit a solo home run on Tuesday as the Houston Astros (in their first postseason appearance in ten years) blanked the New York Yankees 3-0 on the road in the American League Wild-Card game.
The Astros will next take on the Kansas City Royals in a best-of-five American League divisional playoff series which opens in Kansas City on Thursday night.
