Both American League divisional playoff series continued on Friday.

Hanser Alberto lined a tiebreaking single to center field in the 14th inning as the Texas Rangers stretched their divisional playoff series lead to two games to none following their 6-4 road victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

At Kansas City:

Ben Zobrist delivered a seventh-inning single that produced the game-winning run as the Kansas City Royals, who ended up surrendering no more runs after giving up four in the first three innings, came back to square their series at one game apiece with their game-two 5-4 home victory over the Houston Astros, for the first win for a home team in this year's Major League Baseball post-season.
