Stanley Cup Playoffs: Double OT Goal Keeps Islanders Season Alive

 At Edmonton, Alberta:


Jordan Eberle scored the game-winning goal at 12:30 of the second overtime period on Tuesday as the New York Islanders defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in game five of the Stanley Cup Playoffs' Eastern Conference Final.


Semyon Varlamov stopped 36 of 37 shots for the victory that kept the Islanders' season alive.


The Lightning, still up three games to two, can close out the series and advance to the Stanley Cup Final with a game-six victory in Edmonton on Thursday (5:00 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).
