Freshman guard Jordan Matthews scored a season-high 32 points on Thursday while Justin Cobbs added 20 (to go with his 11 assists) as the California Golden Bears (11-4 overall, 2-0 in Pac-12 play) took advantage of 52.5% shooting from the field , and with five players scoring in double figures, defeated the Oregon Ducks (#17 in the Associated Press poll, #13 in the USA Today/Coaches poll; 13-2, 1-2) for the 12th consecutive time, 96-83 on the road, despite 29 points from the Ducks' Joseph Young.
