In the opener, A.J. Davis scored twenty points as James Madison (21-14) defeated LIU-Brooklyn (20-14) 68-55, despite a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) from the Blackbirds' Jamal Olasewere. The Dukes, who notched their first NCAA Tourney victory in 30 years, will stay in Dayton to take on East Regional top seed Indiana on Friday at 1:10 PM Pacific Time (TBS).
In the nightcap, Tyrone Garland scored 22 points while Ramon Galloway added 21 as the LaSalle Explorers (22-9) defeated Boise State (21-11) 80-71 despite a 28-point performance from the Broncos' Anthony Drmic. Next up for the Explorers as the West Regional's #13 seed, a Friday date in Kansas City with the #4-seeded Kansas State Wildcats (12:10 PM Pacific Time, truTV).
