Stanley Cup Playoffs: Blues Finish Off Sharks To Advance To First Stanley Cup Final Since 1970

At St. Louis:

Vladimir Tarasenko and Brayden Schenn each scored a power-play goal while Jordan Binnington saved 25 of 26 shots on Tuesday night as the St. Louis Blues dominated the visiting San Jose Sharks 5-1 in game five of the Stanley Cup Playoff's Western Conference Final, which the Blues won four games to two.

The Blues will be playing in their first Stanley Cup Final since 1970 as they face the Boston Bruins as the championship series is set to open this coming Monday at 5:00 PM Pacific Time at Boston (NBC).

This will be a rematch of the 1970 final, which the Bruins swept in four games to win Lord Stanley's Cup for the first time since 1941.

The Blues reached the final in their first three seasons, only to be swept in four straight games each time (against the Montreal Canadiens in 1968 and 1969 as well as the Bruins in 1970).
