NBA Playoffs: Blazers (After Quadruple-Overtime Epic), Bucks Take 2-1 Series Leads

Two games were contested on Friday as the NBA Playoffs continues.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Boston:

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out eight assists as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Boston Celtics 123-116 on the road in game three of their conference semifinal series, which the Bucks now lead two games to one.

George Hill and Khris Middleton added 21 and 20 points respectively to the Bucks' coffers.

Kyrie Irving scored 29 points while Jayson Tatum added 20 (to go with his ten rebounds) to pace the Celtics.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Portland, Oregon:

C.J. McCollum scored 41 points (while grabbing eight rebounds) while Damian Lillard added 28 (to go with his eight assists) as the Portland Trail Blazers outlasted the visiting Denver Nuggets 140-137 in the NBA's first quadruple-overtime playoff game since 1953.

Rodney Hood scored seven of his 19 points for the Blazers during a 49-second span in the fourth overtime period.

Enes Kanter helped the Blazers' cause with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Jamal Murray scored 34 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Nikola Jokic (who played 65 minutes) added a triple-double (33 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists) to pace the Nuggets.

Will Barton came off the bench to score 22 points and grab nine rebounds for Denver.

For the record, the Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Syracuse Nationals 111-105 on March 21, 1953 in the previous four-overtime playoff contest as the Celts' Bob Cousy scored 50 points as Boston secured their first playoff series victory, a two-game Eastern Division semifinal series sweep over the Nats (who became the Philadelphia 76ers in 1963).

This was before the NBA adopted the 24-shot clock in 1954.
