Stanley Cup Playoffs: Bruins Close Out Blue Jackets, Will Take On Hurricanes For East Title; Avalanche Force Game Seven With Sharks

The Stanley Cup Playoffs resumed on Monday with two games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Columbus, Ohio:

David Krejct, Marcus Johansson, and David Backes each scored once while Tuukka Rask stopped all 39 shots as the Boston Bruins blanked the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-0 on the road and won their conference semifinal series four games to two.

The Bruins will have home-ice advantage against the Carolina Hurricanes in the upcoming Eastern Conference Final.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Denver:

Gabriel Landeskog scored the winning goal at 2:32 of overtime as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the visiting San Jose Sharks 4-3 in game six of their conference semifinal series, now squared at three games apiece.

J.T. Compher scored twice for the Avalanche.

The series will be decided Wednesday night in San Jose, with the winner to face the Dallas-St. Louis winner (that series is also level at three games apiece with the deciding game to be contested on Tuesday night in St. Louis).
