Timbers Blow Playoff Spot, Concede Cascadia Cup

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Giles Barnes scored twice (13', 32') as the Vancouver Whitecaps dominated the visiting Portland Timbers 4-1 in the Major League Soccer season finale for both clubs on Sunday.

The defeat not only cost the Timbers a shot at qualifying for the MLS Cup Playoffs (the first time that has happened to a reigning champ in ten years), it handed the Cascadia Cup to the Whitecaps.

The Timbers ended up going winless on the road in league play, dropping their final seven away matches.
