MLS Cup Playoffs: Impact and Sounders Advance To Conference Semis

The knockout round in the MLS Cup Playoffs concluded on Thursday with two games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Washington:

Matteo Mancosu scored twice (43', 58') as the Montreal Impact knocked off DC United 4-2 on the road to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Seattle:

Nelson Valdez scored the game's lone goal in the 88th minute while goalkeeper Stefan Frei made seven saves as the Seattle Sounders continued their late-season momentum with a 1-0 home victory over Sporting Kansas City, who were knocked out in the knockout round for the third consecutive year.
