Saprissa Oust Timbers From CONCACAF Champions League With Road Draw

At Portland, Oregon:

Rolando Blackburn's goal in the 23rd minute on Wednesday enabled Deportivo Saprissa to gain a 1-1 road with the Portland Timbers, enough for the Costa Rican club to win Group B and advance to the quarterfinals.

Jack McInerney scored for the Timbers in the 57th minute as Portland had to settle for a home draw when a win was needed to advance to the knockout stage.

Portland's final Major League Soccer regular-season contest will at Vancouver in a Cascadia Cup clash against the Whitecaps on Sunday at 1:00 PM Pacific Time (ROOT Sports Northwest).  The Timbers still have a legitimate shot at qualifying for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
