NBA Playoffs: Cavs, Hawks, Grizzlies, Clippers Take Series Opener

Four games were played on Sunday as the NBA Playoffs continued.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Cleveland:

Kyrie Irving scored 30 points while LeBron James added 20 as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the visiting Boston Celtics 113-100 in the opening game of their conference quarterfinal series.  Isaiah Thomas paced the Celtics with 22 points (to go with his ten rebounds).

At Atlanta:

Kyle Korver scored 21 points as the Atlanta Hawks held off the visiting Brooklyn Nets 99-92 in game one of their opening-round series.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Memphis:

Beno Udrih scored 20 points while Zach Randolph (who grabbed 11 rebounds) and Mike Conley each added 16 as the Memphis Grizzlies took the opening game of their conference-quarterfinal series with the Portland Trail Blazers 100-86 at home, despite 32 points and 14 rebounds from the Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge. 

At Los Angeles:

Chris Paul scored 32 points and Blake Griffin added 26 (to go with his 12 rebounds) as the Los Angeles Clippers downed the visiting San Antonio Spurs 107-92 in the opening contest of their best-of-seven first-round series.
