MLB Playoffs: Orioles (Who Score Eight Runs In Eighth Inning) Crush Tigers; Royals Top Angels In 11 Innings As AL Divisional Playoff Series Commence

Both American League best-of-five divisional playoff series got under way on Thursday.

At Baltimore:

Nelson Cruz and J.J. Hardy each hit a home run as the Baltimore Orioles, who scored eight runs in the eighth inning, opened their divisional playoff series with a 12-3 fist beating of the visiting Detroit Tigers.

At Anaheim, California:

Mike Moustakas led off the top of the 11th inning with a solo home run, then pitcher Greg Holland retired the side in order in the bottom of the same inning as the Kansas City Royals seized home-field advantage in their divisional playoff series following their 3-2 game-one road win over the Los Angeles Angels.
