The then-reigning champions of the United States Football League moved from Philly after the previous season, a product of the league's ill-fated decision to begin playing in the fall in 1986 (of course, that fall season never did take place).
The Stars that year played their home games at the University of Maryland's stadium in College Park, Maryland.
