At Corvallis, Oregon:
Stephen Thompson, Jr., who scored 13 points, canned three clutch free throws with one tenth of one second remaining (this after he was fouled on a three-point shot) on Thursday night as the Oregon State Beavers (13-8 overall, 4-6 in Pac-12 play), who trailed by ten points in the second half, knocked off the visiting Utah Runnin' Utes (17-6, 6-4) 71-69, snapping the guests' five-game winning streak.
Gary Payton II scored 20 points to pace the Beavers, while dishing out seven assists and grabbing six rebounds.
The Utes were paced by Jakob Poeltl, who scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
