From 1969, here's a commercial for Pals Vitamins.  These animal-shaped fruit-flavored vitamins for the youngsters was marketed in the late 1960s and early 1970s by Bristol-Myers.

Quakes Foil Timbers Comeback At Santa Clara

At Santa Clara, California:

Goals from Victor Bernardez (PK-55') and Steven Lenhart (58') enabled the San Jose Earthquakes to hold off the visiting Portland Timbers 2-1 in Saturday night Major League Soccer action, despite finishing the contest with ten men (they lost Marvin Chavez, whose second yellow card in the space of two minutes resulted in a red-card ejection in the 86th minute).

Darlington Nagbe scored the lone Portland goal in the 84th minute.

The Timbers will play host to the Vancouver Whitecaps in a Cascadia Cup clash this coming Saturday at 8:00 PM Pacific Time.

The Orlando Predators (7-11) locked up the last remaining Arena Football League playoff berth on Saturday with a 71-42 home victory over the New Orleans VooDoo (5-13), ending the visitors' season.

At Guelph, Ontario:

Drew Willy threw for three touchdowns on Saturday night as the Saskatchewan Roughriders (5-0) defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-4) 32-20 in Canadian Football League action.
