Riders Throttle TiCats At Home

 At Mosaic Stadium, Regina, Saskatchewan: 


Quarterback Trevor Harris completed 18 of 25 passes on Sunday for 211 yards and two touchdowns while backup QB Tommy Stevens ran for two other scores as the Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-1-0, 8 points) defeated the visiting Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-3-0, 4 points) 38-7 in Canadian Football League action.

BLUE BOMBERS SKIN TICATS FOR FIRST GREY CUP TITLE IN 29 YEARS

At Calgary, Alberta:

Winnipeg native Andrew Harris, named the game's Most Valuable Player, ran for 134 yards and scored two touchdowns while Justin Medlock kicked six field goals on Sunday as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers dominated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-12 to win their first Grey Cup championship since 1990.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo passed for 313 yards and ran 56 yards for a touchdown on Thursday as the Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-3) posted their third successive Canadian Football League victory, 24-19 over the visiting Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5-2).

In Saturday Canadian Football League action, quarterback Zach Collaros completed 23 of 31 passes for 381 yards and five touchdowns (and no interceptions) as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-4)  bludgeoned the visiting (and increasingly feckless) Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-7) 53-7.

Ti-Cats Too Much For Riders

At Hamilton, Ontario:

Rookie quarterback Jeff Mathews completed 22 of 33 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (9-5) downed the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-13) 30-15 in Friday Canadian Football League action.  The win placed the Ti-Cats in sole possession of first place in the CFL's Eastern Division while the defeat all but officially eliminated the Riders, who have had a rotten season,  from playoff contention.

Gable picked up 164 yards from scrimmage (135 yards on the ground on 20 carries and 29 yards through the air) while quarterback Zach Collaros completed 19 of 28 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown on Sunday as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-2) defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders (0-5) 31-21 in Canadian Football League action.

102ND GREY CUP FINAL: STAMPS HOLD OFF TI-CATS FOR TITLE; BO LEVI MITCHELL NAMED GAME MVP

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell (named the game's Most Valuable Player) completed 25 of 34 passes for 334 yards while Drew Tate ran for two touchdowns on Sunday as the Calgary Stampeders won their first Grey Cup title since 2008 by holding off the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 20-16 in the 102nd edition of the Canadian Football League's championship game.  The Ti-Cats had a chance to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, but Brandon Banks' punt return for a touchdown was called back due to a holding penalty.

Quarterback Zach Collaros completed 29 of 36 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns, while Terrell Sinkfield ran back a punt 57 yards for another major score as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats  (3-7) snapped with Saskatchewan Roughriders' (8-3) Canadian Football League winning streak at seven with a 28-3 Sunday home domination.

Riders Dominate Ti-Cats To Begin Title Defense

At Regina, Saskatchewan:

Running back Anthony Allen ran for 158 yards and a touchdown on Sunday (he also caught one for another score) as the defending Grey Cup champions Saskatchewan Roughriders opened their Canadian Football League regular-season campaign with a 31-10 victory over the visiting Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a rematch of last year's Grey Cup Final, which the Riders won.

'RIDERS DOMINATE TI-CATS AT HOME, WIN FOURTH GREY CUP TITLE (FIRST SINCE '07); KORY SHEETS NAMED GAME MVP

At Regina, Saskatchewan:




Quarterback Darian Durant (that's him holding the Grey Cup) completed 17 of 24 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns (two of them to Geroy Simon) while running back Kory Sheets---named the game's Most Valuable Player---ran for a championship-game record 197 yards and two TDs as the Saskatchewan  Roughriders won their fourth Grey Cup championship (their first since 2007) with a 45-23 victory at home over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 101st Grey Cup Final played at Mosaic Stadium.
