Derrick Walton, Jr. scored 26 points and dished off eleven assists as the seventh-seeded Michigan Wolverines (25-11) held off the tenth-seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys (20-13) 92-91, despite 23 points from the Cowboys' Juwan Evans.
Mangok Mathlang scored 18 points while Quentin Snider and Deng Adel each added 16 as the second-seeded Louisville Cardinals (25-8) downed the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (20-15) 78-63, spoiling the Alabama school's NCAA Tourney debut.
Norbertas Giga topped the Gamecocks with 30 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
At Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California:
Tyler Dorsey scored 24 points as the third-seeded Oregon Ducks (30-5) built up a 27-point second-half lead and coasted to a 93-77 victory over 14th-seeded Iona (22-13).
In his final college game, Jordan Washington topped the Gaels with 22 points.
Jeff Dowtin scored a career-high 23 points to lead the 11th-seeded Rhode Island Rams (25-9) past the sixth-seeded Creighton Bluejays (25-10) 84-72.
At BOK Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma:
Frank Mason III scored 22 points and dished out eight assists as the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks (29-4) hammered the sixteenth-seeded UC Davis Aggies (23-13) 100-62.
Chima Moneke paced the Aggies with 20 points.
In the 33 years now since the tournament expanded to 64 teams, the #1 seeds hold a 132-0 record against the #16 seeds.
Nick Wood converted eight of nine shots from the field as he netted 19 points as the ninth-seeded Michigan State Spartans (20-14) upended the eighth-seeded Miami Hurricanes (21-12) 78-58.
