Dolphins Hold Off Niners For Sixth Straight Win; San Fran Suffers Franchise-Record Tenth Straight Defeat

At Miami:

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday as the Miami Dolphins (7-4) gathered their sixth straight victory (their first such winning streak since 2005) by holding off the visiting San Francisco 49ers (1-10) 31-24.

Ndomukung Suk tackled Niners' quarterback Colin Kaepernick (who threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns and ran 111 yards for another score) two yards short of the goal line as he tried to score the game-tying as time expired.

The defeat was San Francisco's franchise-record tenth consecutive and mathematically eliminated the 49ers from playoff contention for the third successive season.
