Bess Myerson who became the first Jewish Miss America (1945), then became a popular television personality in the 1950s and '60s (she was a panelist on I've Got A Secret from 1959 to 1967) before becoming the head of two New York City agencies (Consumer Affairs and Cultural), then was involved in a shattering municipal scandal in the 1980s, passed away on December 14 at her Santa Monica, California home at age 90.
Bess' passing was not made public until Monday.
