Norberto Paparatto scored twice in the second half on Tuesday night (61', 88') as the Portland Timbers destroyed visiting Alpha United 6-0 in CONCACAF Champions League group-stage play. The Timbers, currently atop the Group Five standings, now need only a draw (or even a one-goal loss) in Honduras on October 21 against CD Olimpia to advance to the tournament's knockout stage.
Portland's next Major League Soccer match is on Saturday at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on the road against Toronto FC (ROOT Sports Northwest).
