Stanley Cup Playoffs: Blackhawks, Bruins Take Conference Finals Openers

Both conference finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs commenced on Saturday.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Chicago:

Goals from Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa, both in the second period, carried the Chicago Blackhawks to a Western Conference finals-opening 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Los Angeles Kings.  Corey Crawford saved 20 of 21 shots to preserve the win.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Pittsburgh:

David Krejci scored twice and Nathan Horton once, while Tuukka Rask turned back all 29 shots as the Boston Bruins seized home-ice advantage in the Eastern Conference finals with their series-opening 3-0 road blanking of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
