Ducks Top Fresno State In Men's Roundball Season Opener

At Eugene, Oregon:

Payton Pritchard scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists on Tuesday night as the Oregon Ducks (#15 AP, #14 Coaches) defeated the visiting Fresno State Bulldogs 71-57 in the men's basketball regular-season opener for both schools.

Las Vegas Bowl: Bulldogs Hold Off Sun Devils To Cap First 12-Win Season

At Las Vegas:

In Saturday's Las Vegas Bowl, Ronnie Rivers ran for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Fresno State Bulldogs (12-2) capped off the first 12-win season in program history by holding off the Arizona State Sun Devils (7-6) 31-20.

At Honolulu:

Quarterback Marcus McMaryion threw for a career-high 342 yards in completing 33 of 48 passes while Jimmy Camacho made four field goals on Sunday as the Fresno State Bulldogs (10-4) downed the Houston Cougars (7-5) 33-27 in the Hawaii Bowl.

Jordan Bell scored a career-high 23 points while grabbing eight rebounds on Tuesday night as the Oregon Ducks (11-2; #20 and #21 in the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls, respectively) held off the visiting Fresno State Bulldogs (8-4) 75-63 for their ninth consecutive victory and their 33rd straight win at home as they concluded nonconference play.

Jahmel Taylor scored 21 points ( while converting six of ten three-point shots in the process) and had three steals on Friday night as the Fresno State Bulldogs (3-2) overcame the Oregon State Beavers (2-4) 63-58, despite a career-high 31 points (to go along with ten rebounds and six steals) from the Beavers' Tres Tinkle.

Cody Kessler passed for 344 yards and a bowl-record four touchdowns (two apiece to Marqise Lee and Nelson Agholor) as the Southern California Trojans (#25 in the Bowl Championship Series standings;10-4) picked up their first postseason victory since 2009, 45-20 over The Fresno State Bulldogs (#20 in both the BCS standings and the USA Today/Coaches poll, #21 in the Associated Press rankings; 11-2) in Saturday's Las Vegas Bowl.

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl: Defensive Performance Sparks Mustangs Past Bulldogs

At Honolulu:

Defensive end Margus Hunt forced two fumbles that set up field goals and sacked opposing quarterback Derek Carr in the end zone for a safety as the SMU Mustangs (7-6) dominated the Fresno State Bulldogs (9-4) 43-10 in Monday's Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.  Taylor Reed and Hayden Greenbauer returned interceptions of 69 and 83 yards respectively for Mustang touchdowns.

Kenjon Barber ran for a career best 201 yards on 34 carries and scored three touchdowns as the Oregon Ducks (2-0; ranked #4 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls) built up a 35-6 halftime lead, then coasted to a 42-25 home win over the Fresno State Bulldogs (1-1).

Ex-Gopher Helps Ducks Top Bulldogs

At Eugene, Oregon:


Former Minnesota Golden Gopher Devoe Joseph scored 18 points in his first game in an Oregon Ducks uniform as the Pac-12 club (5-2) defeated visiting Fresno State (4-6) 74-70 on Saturday.  Garrett Sim, who made all five shots from the field and all four free throws,  added 17 points for the Ducks while E. J. Singler added 14 for Oregon.

Cowboys Top Bulldogs In Overtime Thriller In Albuquerque

At Albuquerque, New Mexico:

The college football bowl season got under way on Saturday as Wyoming (7-6) defeated Fresno State (8-5) 35-28 in the New Mexico Bowl. Cowboys freshman quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to David Leonard in the second overtime period.
