DeAndre Ayton scored 28 points (while grabbing 18 rebounds) to pace the Wildcats while Raele Alkins added 24.

Drew Eubanks scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Tres Tinkle added 15 points, eight boards, and eight assists on Saturday night as the Oregon State Beavers (14-14 overall, 6-10 in Pac-12 play) held off the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils (#25 in the USA Today/Coaches poll; 19-9, 7-9) 79-75.

Tra Holder scored 23 points to pace the Sun Devils, who have now dropped three straight contests.

Waves Coast To Home Win Over Pilots To Snap Eight-Game Losing Skid

At Malibu, California:

Kameron Edwards scored 14 of his 22 points in the opening half on Saturday as the Pepperdine Waves (5-25 overall, 2-16 in WCC play) raced out to a 42-17 halftime lead en route to a 75-64 home win over the Portland Pilots (10-21, 4-14), ending an eight-game losing streak.

The Pilots have now dropped their last six games.

Holland Woods scored 20 points, including the three-pointer that forced overtime on Thursday as the Portland State Vikings (17-11 overall, 7-8 in Big Sky play), after trailing by as many as 14 points, knocked off the Southern Utah Thunderbirds (10-16, 4-11) 96-91 on the road.

Dwayne Morgan paced the T-Birds with 21 points to go with his 10 rebounds.

The Reverend Billy Graham, "America's Pastor," R.I.P.

The Reverend Billy Graham, a North Carolina's farmer's son who went on to preach to millions in stadium events he called Crusades and become known as "America's Pastor," passed away on Wednesday at age 99.


He passed away at his Montreat, North Carolina home.

Tres Tinkle scored 20 points (while grabbing five rebounds, dishing out five assists, and coming up with three steals) while Alfred Hollins added 19 and Drew Eubanks 18 (to go with his ten rebounds) on Thursday night as the Oregon State Beavers (12-11 overall, 4-7 in Pac-12 play), with all five starters scoring in double figures, snapped a four-game losing skid by clubbing the visiting Washington State Cougars (9-14, 1-10) 94-62.

The Beavers went on a 20-0 run spanning the final four minutes of the opening half and the first two minutes of half number two as the send the Cougs to their sixth straight defeat.

Super Bowl Post-Mortem

There's no question that a key play in Sunday's Super Bowl contest was tight end Trey Burton's touchdown pass to quarterback Nick Foles, who was named the game's MVP.

Perhaps the decision by the New England Patriots not to use Malcolm Butler on defense was also a key.

Quarterback Nick Foles---named the game's Most Valuable Player---accounted for four touchdowns on Sunday----throwing for three and catching one for another----as the Philadelphia Eagles captured Super Bowl LII by a score of 41-33 over the defending champions New England Patriots.

The Eagles won their first Super Bowl title (and their first National Football League championship since 1960).

The 1,151 combined yards of offense between the two teams marked a modern single-game NFL record (regular OR post-season).

In the losing effort, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw for a Super Bowl-record 505 yards (and threw for three touchdowns).
