Jake Toolson and Yoeli Childs (who grabbed eight rebounds) each scored 22 points on Thursday as the BYU Cougars (18-7 overall, 7-3 in WCC play) mauled the sagging Portland Pilots 9-16, 1-9) 85-54 on the road.

The Pilots have now dropped eight straight games.

Cougars Maul Pilots In Provo

At Provo, Utah:

Zac Seljaas came off the bench to score a season-high 21 points on Saturday night as the BYU Cougars (13-5 overall, 2-1 in WCC play) mauled the visiting Portland Pilots (9-9, 1-2) 96-70.

The Cougars had six players---all five starters as well as the aforementioned Mr. Seljaas----scoring in double figures.

Hawaii Bowl: Rainbow Warriors Overcome BYU

At Honolulu:

Quarterback Cole MacDonald threw for 493 yards and four touchdowns (including the game winner to Nick Mardner with 77 seconds remaining) on Christmas Eve as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (10-5) overcame the BYU Cougars (7-6) 38-34, capping off the Warriors' first ten-win season since 2010.

BYU Keeps Pilots Winless In WCC Play

At Portland, Oregon:

T.J. Haws scored 22 points while Yoeli Childs added 17 (to go with his 11 rebounds) as the BYU Cougars (15-10 overall, 7-3 in WCC play) handed the struggling Portland Pilots (7-18, 0-10; one of seven Division I schools still winless in conference play) their 11th straight defeat 83-48.

No Pilots scored in double figures.

Yoeli Childs scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half on Thursday night as the BYU Cougars (10-8 overall, 2-1 in WCC play) dominated the visiting Portland Pilots (7-10, 0-2) 79-56.

At Boise, Idaho:

In Friday's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, quarterback Zach Wilson completed all 18 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns as the BYU Cougars (7-6) devoured the Western Michigan Broncos (7-6) 49-18.

BYU Too Much For Visiting Vikings

At Provo, Utah:

T.J. Haws scored 30 points (half of them on five three-pointers) on Wednesday as the BYU Cougars (8-4) dominated the visiting Portland State Vikings (5-4) 85-66.

ZAGS PROVE TOO MUCH FOR BYU, WIN ANOTHER WCC TOURNEY CROWN

At Paradise, Nevada:

Killian Tillie scored 24 points on Tuesday night as the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (#6 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 30-4) locked up their sixth successive West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament championship by dominating the BYU Cougars (24-10) 74-54 as Orleans Arena in suburban Las Vegas and locking up the conference's automatic NCAA tournament berth as a result.

Yoeli Childs paced the Cougars with 20 points.

BYU Grounds Pilots In Portland

At Portland, Oregon:

Elijah Bryant and Yoeli Childs (who grabbed 13 rebounds)  each scored 15 points on Thursday night as the BYU Cougars (22-8 overall, 11-6 in West Coast play), still dreaming of an NCAA Tournament berth, downed the Portland Pilots (10-20, 4-13) 72-60 on the road. 

Marcus Shaver, Jr. topped the Pilots, who have now dropped five successive starts, with 21 points.

BYU Grounds Pilots In WCC Opener

At Provo, Utah:

In the West Coast Conference opener for both squads, Yoeli Childs scored a carer-high 26 points on Thursday night while grabbing 13 rebounds while Elijan Bryant contributed 22 points and 15 boards as the BYU Cougars (12-2) picked up their ninth straight win, 68-45 over the visiting Portland Pilots (6-8).

Elijah Bryant sank seven three-point baskets en route to a career-high 39 points on Thursday night as the BYU Cougars (20-10 overall, 11-6 in West Coast play) dominate the Portland Pilots (10-20, 2-15) 97-78 on the road.

BYU Grounds Visiting Pilots As Portland's Recent Woes Continue

At Provo, Utah:

Eric Mika scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on Saturday as the Brigham Young Cougars (17-8 overall, 8-4 in WCC play) handed the visiting Portland State Vikings (9-15, 2-10) their tenth straight defeat, 73-62.

Gabe Taylor paced the Pilots with 20 points.

The victory was #300 for Cougars coach Dave Rose.

Poinsettia Bowl: BYU Holds Off Wyoming

At San Diego:

Quarterback Tanner Magnum threw for a touchdown and ran for another while Jamaal Williams ran 36 yards (of his 210) for another TD as the BYU Cougars (9-4) defeated the Wyoming Cowboys (8-6) 24-21 in Wednesday's edition of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

The Cougars' Kai Nacua intercepted a pass from Cowboys quarterback Josh Allen late in the fourth quarter to squelch the Wyoming comeback and seal the win for BYU.

BYU Cougars Too Much For Pilots

At Provo, Utah:

Kyle Collinsworth extended his NCAA career triple-double recored to eleven on Thursday night with 14 points, ten rebounds, and a career-high 16 assists as the Brigham Young Cougars (22-8 overall, 13-4 in WCC play) continued their quest to prove their case before the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Committee by dominating the visiting Portland Pilots (12-18, 6-11) 99-81.

Chase Fisher paced the Cougars----who had six players scoring in double figures----with 21 points.

Pilots Knock Off Visiting Cougars

At Portland, Oregon:

Alec Wintering scored 22 points while Bryce Pressley and D'Marques Tyson each added 21 on Saturday as the Portland Pilots (9-11 overall, 3-4 in WCC play) upended the visiting BYU Cougars (13-6, 4-2) 84-81.

Chase Fischer scored 22 points to pace the Cougars.

Las Vegas Bowl: Utes Score 35 Points In First Quarter, Then Hold Off BYU For Victory

At Las Vegas:

Tevin Carter ran back an interception 28 yards for a touchdown and Dominique Hatfield ran another back 46 for another score as the Utah Runnin' Utes (#24 in the final College Football Playoff rankings; 10-3) scored 35 points in the first quarter before holding off the BYU Cougars (9-4) 35-28 in Saturday's Las Vegas Bowl, spoiling Bronco Mendenhall's final game as the Cougars' head football coach after eleven years (he will take over as Virginia's head coach).

ZAGS AVENGE HOME LOSS TO COUGARS, CLAIM ANOTHER WCC TOURNEY CROWN

Kyle Wiltjer scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (#7 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 32-2) avenged their home defeat from late last month by defeating Brigham Young (25-9) 91-75 on Tuesday night to win their third successive West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Title (and with it, an automatic berth in the upcoming NCAA Tournament), despite 28 points from the Cougars' Kyle Collinsworth.

Tyler Haws Eclipses Jimmer As School's All-Time Scoring Leader As BYU Cougars Overcome Halftime Deficit, Overpower Pilots On Road

At Portland, Oregon:

Tyler Haws scored 21 points on Thursday as he became BYU's all-time leading scorer, supplanting Jimmer Fredette, as the Cougars (22-8 overall, 12-5 in WCC play), who trailed by eight points at halftime,  defeated the Portland Pilots (16-13, 7-10) 82-69 on the road.

Cougars Hold Off Visiting Pilots In Provo

At Provo, Utah:

Tyler Haws (24 points) , Kyle Collinsworth (22) , and Anson Winder (21) combined top score 67 points on Monday night as the BYU Cougars (1-1 in WCC play, 11-4 overall) held off the visiting Portland Pilots (1-1, 10-4) 97-88, despite 30 points from the Pilots' Alec Wintering, one of five Portland players to score in double-figures.

Miami Beach Bowl: Tigers Grab Double-Overtime Victory Over BYU In Inaugural Edition

At Miami:

Quarterback Paxton Lynch threw four touchdown passes (including an 11-yarder to Roderick Proctor in the second overtime period) and ran for three more scores on Monday as the Memphis Tigers (10-3) capped off their first ten-win season since 1938 with a 55-48 double-overtime victory over the BYU Cougars (8-5) in the inaugural edition of the Miami Beach Bowl despite blowing two double-digit leads.  After the game, numerous players on both teams were involved in a brawl in which punches were thrown.
