Ducks Fall On The Gridiron Against Cal Bears In Berkeley

 At Berkeley, California:


Chase Garbers completed 20 of 32 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown (while running for another one) on Saturday as the California Golden Bears (1-3) racked up their first victory of the season by upending the visiting Oregon Ducks (3-2; #23 CFP Rankings) 21-17.

Beavers Hold Off Cal Bears In Hoops Season Opener

 At Corvallis, Oregon:


Warith Alatishe scored 16 points while Ethan Thompson added 15 as the Oregon State Beavers defeated the visiting California Golden Bears 71-63 in the men's basketball season opener for both schools (which counts as a nonconference contest).


Matt Bradley scored 21 points to pace the Bears.

Tristan's The Man As Beavers Overcome Cal Bears For First Win

 At Corvallis, Oregon:


Quarterback Tristan Gebbia passed for a touchdown, caught a pass for another, and ran for the winning TD with 4:30 remaining in regulation on Saturday as the Oregon State Beavers (1-2) overcame the visiting California Golden Bears (0-2) 31-27 for their first win of the season.


Mr. Gebbia became the first Pac-12 Conference since 1996 to complete this touchdown trifecta.

Payton Pritchard scored 20 points and dished out nine assists on Thursday night as the Oregon Ducks (#13 AP, Coaches; 23-7 overall, 12-5 in Pac-12 play) demolished the visiting California Golden Bears (13-17, 7-10) 90-56.

The Ducks have now won 21 straight home games.

Matt Bradley scored 23 points on Saturday as the California Golden Bears (10-11 overall, 4-4 in Pac-12 play) nudged out the visiting Oregon State Beavers (13-9, 3-7) 69-67.

Tres Tinkle paced the Beavers with 19 points while grabbing seven rebounds.

Payton Pritchard scored 21 points and dished out eight assists (to become the school's all-time assists leader) on Thursday night as the Oregon Ducks (#11 AP, #12 Coaches; 18-4 overall, 7-2 in Pac-12 play) defeated the California Golden Bears (9-11, 3-4) 77-72 on the road.

Matt Bradley led the Bears (who had four players scoring in double figures) with 25 points.

Quarterback Chase Garbers completed 22 of 31 passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns (and ran for another score) on Monday as the California Golden Bears (8-5) topped the Illinois Fighting Illini (6-7) 35-20 in the Redbox Bowl.

Beavers Upend Cal Bears In Berkeley

At Berkeley, California:

Quarterback Jake Luton threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns as the Oregon State Beavers (3-4 overall, 2-2 in Pac-12 play) registered nine quarterback sacks en route to a 21-17 road victory over the California Golden Bears (4-3, 1-3).

The three wins overall and two in conference play has already topped both victory totals from all last season for the Beavers.

Running back Cyrus Habibi-Likio ran a yard for a touchdown late in the third quarter Justin Herbert threw a TD pass in the fourth quarter to Jaylon Redd as the Oregon Ducks (#13 both AP and Coaches; 4-1 overall, 2-0 in Pac-12 play) overcame a 7-0 halftime deficit to overcome the visiting California Golden Bears (4-2, 1-2) 17-7 on Saturday.

Those Thompson Brothers, Stephen, Jr. and Ethan scored 21 and 20 points, respectively on Saturday while Tres Tinkle added 19 as the Oregon State Beavers (15-8 overall, 7-4 in Pac-12 play) rebounded with a 79-71 home victory over the California Golden Bears (5-18, 0-11), who have now dropped 19 straight conference games, 12 overall.

Payton Pritchard scored 20 points while grabbing ten rebounds on Wednesday night as the Oregon Ducks (14-9 overall, 5-5 in Pac-12 play) defeated the visiting California Golden Bears (5-17, 0-10) 73-62.

The Bears have now dropped 11 straight games (18 straight in conference play).

Jonathan Song kicked the game-winning 27-yard field goal in overtime as the TCU Horned Frogs defeated the California Golden Bears 10-7 in the Cheez-It Bowl.

Both teams finished their seasons with 7-6 records.

Bears Hold Off Beavers In Berkeley, End Losing Streak At Nine Games

At Berkeley, California:

Kingsley Okoroh played the game of his career on Saturday as he scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the California Golden Bears (8-16 overall, 2-9 in Pac-12 play) snapped their nine-game losing streak by holding off the visiting Oregon State Beavers (11-11, 3-7) 74-70.

Darius McNeill topped the Bears with 16 points.

Stephen Thompson, Jr. led the Beavers, who have now dropped four straight games and 19 successive on the road,  with 24 points on nine-of-thirteen shooting from the field.

Troy Brown scored 16 points while Elijah Brown added 15 and MiKyle McIntosh 13 (to go with his 11 rebounds) on Thursday night as the Oregon Ducks (15-7 overall, 5-4 in Pac-12 play) handed the struggling California Golden Bears (7-16, 1-9) their ninth straight defeat, 66-53 on the road.

Bryca Canda scored 23 points 23 points as the Portland State Vikings (10-3), with six players scoring in double figures, dominated the California Golden Bears (6-7) 106-81 on the road.

Deontae North added 20 points (14 in the second half) to the Vikings' coffers.

Justin Herbert, before coming out of the game with an injury, threw for a touchdown and ran for another while Kani Benoit ran for 138 yards and two more scores (one, a career-long 68-yarder) on Saturday night as the Oregon Ducks (4-1 overall, 1-1 in Pac-12 play) outdistanced the visiting California Golden Bears (3-2, 0-2) 45-24 to match their 2016 victory total, despite suffering a number of injuries in the contest.
