The divisional round of the National Football League playoffs commenced on Saturday with two games.
NATIONAL FOOTBALL CONFERENCE:
At Philadelphia:
Quarterback Nick Foles threw a touchdown pass while Jake Elliot kicked three field goals as the Philadelphia Eagles used a last-minute defensive goal-line stand to hold off the visiting Atlanta Falcons 15-10 to earn the right to host next Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the winner of this coming Sunday's New Orleans-Minnesota divisional playoff.
AMERICAN FOOTBALL CONFERENCE:
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Tom Brady threw for three touchdowns (becoming the first quarterback to throw for at least that many TDs in ten playoff games, breaking the record he shared with Hall of Famer Joe Montana) as the New England Patriots dominated the visiting Tennessee Titans 35-14 in their divisional playoff. The Patriots will host the Jacksonville-Pittsburgh winner in next Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
