Despite a hand injury suffered this past week during practice, quarterback Tom Brady threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Danny Amendola, the second of them from four yards out with 2:48 remaining, as the New England Patriots overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to upend the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in the AFC Championship Game to advance to their tenth Super Bowl, looking to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers' record for most Super Bowl titles (six).
NATIONAL FOOTBALL CONFERENCE:
At Philadelphia:
Quarterback Nick Foles completed 26 of 33 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns while defensive back Patrick Robinson ran back an intercepted pass 50 yards for another score as the Philadelphia Eagles captured their first NFC title and Super Bowl berth in 13 years with their 38-7 home fist-beating of the Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles will play in their third Super Bowl, still looking for their first NFL title since 1960.
The Patriots and Eagles will square off in Super Bowl LII, which will take place Sunday after next (February 4) at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis at 3:30 PM Pacific Time (NBC).
