NCAA Midwest: Boilermakers Top Cyclones, Head To Sweet Sixteen

At Milwaukee, Wisconsin:

In the lone Saturday contest in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Midwest Region, Caleb Swanigan scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out seven assists as the fourth-seeded Purdue Boilermakers (27-7) upended the fifth-seeded Iowa State Cyclones (24-11) 80-76.

Vince Edwards added 21 points and ten rebounds to the Boilermakers' coffers.

The Cyclones' Deonte Burton scored 17 of his 25 points in the second half as Iowa State battled back from a 19-point second-half deficit to make it a game, even taking a short-lived lead late in the second half.

Matt Thomas added to the Cyclones' coffers with 20 points.
