NCAA Midwest: Boilermakers, Cyclones Advance

The NCAA Men's Division Men's Basketball Tournament's Midwest Region is set to open with two games, played at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

In the opener, Vincent Edwards scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half to help guide the fourth-seeded Purdue Boilermakers (26-7) past the thirteenth-seeded Vermont Catamounts (29-6) 80-70, snapping the longest current winning streak in Division I at 21.

While grabbing nine rebounds, Anthony Lamb paced the Catamounts with 20 points.



In the nightcap, Monte Morris scored 19 points as the fifth-seeded Iowa State Cyclones (24-10) held off 12th-seeded Nevada (28-7) 84-73.

Cameron Oliver scored 22 points and Jordan Caroline added 20 to pace the Wolf Pack.
