Carl Hagelin scored the game-winning (and series-ending) goal at 10:52 of overtime as the New York Rangers defeated the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 to win their opening-round playoff series four games to one. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 37 of 38 Pittsburgh shots.
At Montreal:
With Eril Karlsson and Bobby Ryan each scoring a power-play goal and Craig Anderson stopping 45 of 46 shots, the Ottawa Senators dominated the visiting Montreal Canadiens 5-1 in game five of their conference quarterfinal series, which the Canadiens still lead three games to two. The Senators will try to square the series at three games apiece by winning game six Sunday night back home in Ottawa.

Timbers Pick Up First Road Win In The Bronx
At the Bronx, New York City:
Dairon Asprilla scored the only goal of the match in the 79th minute on Sunday as the Portland Timbers went into Yankee Stadium and picked up their first Major League Soccer road win of the season, 1-0 over New York City.

Richard L. Bare, Director Of Almost All "Green Acres" Episodes, R.I.P.
Richard L. Bare, a director who piloted the Warner Brothers theatrical one-reel comedy series "Joe McDoakes," which starred George O'Hanlon (the future voice of TV's George Jetson) in the title role, which ran 14 years (1942-56), then directed episodes of such television series as Maverick, The Twilight Zone, Petticoat Junction, and most notoriously, Green Acres, passed away on March 28 at Newport Beach, Califonia at age 101.
Mr. Bare directed all but four episodes during that last series' six-year CBS run (1965-71).

Milton DeLugg, Composer, Accordionist-Bandleader, Musical Director For Original "Gong Show," R.I.P.
Milton DeLugg, the songwriter, accordionist, and bandleader who was the musical director on TV's Broadway Open House (1950-51), The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1966-67), and who is best remembered by some TV viewers as the orchestra leader on Chuck Barris' original version of The Gong Show (NBC, 1976-78; syndication, 1976-80) passed away on Monday at age 96.
Mr. DeLugg, amongst whose songs he wrote or co-wrote, wrote the song "Orange Colored Sky," which was a big hit in the early 1950s for Nat King Cole and "Hoop-De-Doo," a polka that was a big hit at that same time for Perry Como.

James Best, the Kentucky-born actor (and relative of the Everly Brothers) best remembered for his portrayal of the corrupted (as well as bumbling) Hazzard County Shefiff Rosco P. Coltrane on the 1979-85 television series The Dukes of Hazzard, passed away from pneumonia at age 88 on Monday night at a Hickory, North Carolina hospice.

Stan Freberg, a satirist, comedian, actor, writer, puppeteer, cartoon voice artist, and humorist best remembered for, among many, many numerous achievements, satirical comedy records like "Saint George and the Dragonet," "Rock Island Line," and "Wunnerful Wunnerful," as well as directing the classic 1960s Jeno's Pizza Rolls commercial that featured Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels (as the Lone Ranger and Tonto, respectively), passed away on Tuesday morning at age 88.

Lon Simmons, Longtime Broadcaster With Giants, Athletics, 49ers, R.I.P.
Lon Simmons, the longtime voice of baseball's San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics, as well as football's San Francisco 49ers, passed away on Sunday at age 91.
Mr. Simmons, who began his Giants broadcasting career in 1958 (sharing duties with Russ Hodges, who moved west with the team from New York), the year the baseball club began play on the West Coast, retired in 2002.

The Timbers' next two games are nationally-televised affairs against the two expansion clubs. Portland will host Orlando City on April 12 at 2:00 PM Pacific Time (ESPN 2), then will head to Yankee Stadium for an April 19 match against New York City FC (4:00 PM Pacific Time, Fox Sports 1).
