Larry Mabiala (27') and Dario Zuparic (66') each scored once as the Portland Timbers defeated Orlando City 2-1 in the championship match of the MLS Is Back Tournament.
The victory netted a $300,000 prize as well as a 2021 CONCACAF Champions League berth for the Timbers.
Mauricio Pereyra scored for the Lions in the 39th minute.
The Timbers will resume regular-season play on Sunday, August 23 at home against the Seattle Sounders in Cascadia Cup play (7:00 PM Pacific Time, Fox Sports One)

Timbers And Lions Draw In Rose City
At Portland, Oregon:
Jeremy Ebobisse's equalizer in the 82nd minute on Thursday lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 Major League Soccer home draw with Orlando City.
Santiago Patino scored in the 44th minute for the visiting Lions.
Next up for the Timbers, another nationally-televised contest, this time on the road in Seattle as Portland will take on the Sounders in a Cascadia Cup clash on Sunday (6:30 PM Pacific Time, FS1).

Timbers Blow Two-Goal Lead, Fall To Lions In Central Florida

Chris Mueller (80'), Sacha Klejstan (PK-82'), and Dom Dwyer (87') each scored once in the final minutes as Orlando City erased a two-goal deficit to upend the visiting Portland Timbers 3-2 in Sunday Major League Soccer action.
Diego Valeri (PK-20') and Bill Tuiloma (59') each scored once for the Timbers who had three defeats and two draws on their season-opening five-match road trip.
Portland's home opener will take place this coming Saturday night against Minnesota United FC (7:30 PM Pacific Time, Timbers Broadcast Television Network, via KPTV, Portland).

DV8 Helps Timbers Dominate Lions At Home

Diego Valeri scored twice (PK-15', 59') and Darren Mattocks once (29') as the Portland Timbers dominated visiting Orlando City 3-0 in Sunday Major League Soccer action.
The Lions, with Jonathan Spector (47' after collecting his second yellow card) and Victor Giro (85' after a straight red card) being tossed out of the match by referee Baldomero Toledo, ended the game with nine men as their playoff hopes are flickering away while the Timbers find themselves in second place in the Western Conference standings, one point behind front-running Vancouver.
The Timbers' next match is against the Earthquakes at San Jose this coming Saturday night at 7:30 PM (to aired over the Timbers' broadcast TV network via KPDX, Portland-Vancouver).

Kaka Leads Lions To Home Beatdown Of Timbers

In the lone Sunday Major League Soccer contest, Kaka scored a goal (48') and assisted on two others----Seb Hines' score in the 13th minute and Brek Shea's tally in the 32nd---while Kevin Molino successfully converted a penalty kick in the 76th minute as Orlando City overpowered the visiting Portland Timbers 4-1.
Lions' goalkeeper Joe Bendik---who played for the Timbers in 2012 before spending three years with Toronto FC---saved Fanendo Adi's penalty kick in the 42nd minute.
Jack McInerney scored the lone Timbers goal in the 88th minute.

Orlando City, with goals from Cyle Larin (30') and Kaka (PK-85'), defeated the Portland Timbers 2-0 on the road in Sunday Major League Soccer action.
The match was the first between the two clubs.
Lions goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts delivered a shutout against one of his former clubs.
The Timbers will face the other new expansion club, New York City FC, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx next Sunday at 4:00 PM Pacific Time (Fox Sports 1).
