The East Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament continued on Friday with two games played, both at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
In the opener, the sixth-seeded Cincinnati Bearcats (25-10) defeated the #11-seeded Texas Longhorns (20-14) 65-59. Yancy Gates scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bearcats.
In the second contest, Brendan James scored 19 points and pulled in 9 rebounds as the #3-seeded Florida State Seminoles (25-9) recovered from a slow start and fought off #14-seeded St. Bonaventure (20-12) 66-63. Andrew Nicholson scored 20 points to pace the Bonnies. The Seminoles will take on Cincinnati on Sunday.
