ASTROS HANDCUFF YANKEES' BATS, ADVANCE TO FIRST WORLD SERIES SINCE 2005

At Houston:

Pitchers Charlie Morton and Lance McCullers combined on a three-hit shutout while Jose Altuve and Evan Gattis each hit a home run on Saturday night as the Houston Astros blanked the visiting New York Yankees 4-0 in game seven of the American League Championship Series and won their second-ever league title four games to three.

The Astros won the National League pennant in 2005 and were swept in that year's World Series in four straight games by the Chicago White Sox.

Houston switched to the American League in 2013.

The Astros will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in this year's Fall Classic, which opens this coming Tuesday in the City of Angels.
