Stanley Cup Playoffs: Penguins Top Habs To Take 3-2 Series Lead; Sharks Finish Off Wings With Game Five Win

Two games were played on Saturday as the Stanley Cup Playoffs continued.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Pittsburgh:

Kris Letang (PP) and Sergei Gonchar each scored a goal and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 31 of 32 shots as the Pittsburgh Penguins took a three-games-to-two lead in their conference semifinal series with a 2-1 home win over the Montreal Canadiens.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At San Jose, California:


Patrick Marleau scored the winning goal at 6:59 of the third period and  Evgeni Nabokov stopped 31 of 32 shots as the San Jose Sharks eliminated the Detroit Red Wings four games to one with their 2-1 home win in game five.  The Sharks will face (with home-ice advantage) the winner of the Chicago-Vancouver series for the right to go to the Stanley Cup Finals.
