Stanley Cup Playoffs: Flyers, Blackhawks Take 2-0 Series Leads

Both conference finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs resumed on Tuesday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Philadelphia:

Michael Leighton stopped all 30 shots to register his second successive shutout while Danny Briere (PP), Simon Gagne (PP), and Ville Leino each tallied once as the Philadelphia Flyers blanked the visiting Montreal Canadiens once again, this time 3-0 in game two of the Eastern Conference final.  Dating back to their game-seven conference semifinal win at Boston, the Flyers have now scored thirteen unanswered goals.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At San Jose, California:

Dustin Byfuglien and Jonathan Toews scored on deflections 90 seconds apart in the second period as the Chicago Blackhawks took a two-games-to-none lead in the Western Conference final with a 4-2 road win over the San Jose Sharks.
