In Thursday's Texas Bowl, quarterback Charlie Brewer completed 21 of 34 passes for 384 yards and two touchdowns while carrying the ball 16 times for 109 yards and another score as the Baylor Bears (7-6) outlasted the Vanderbilt Commodores (6-7) 45-38.

Russell Athletic Bowl: Johnny Jefferson Runs Wild As Baylor Outruns Carolina

At Orlando, Florida:

Johnny Jefferson ran for 299 yards and three touchdowns on Tuesday as the Baylor Bears (#17 in the final College Football Playoff rankings; 10-3) downed the North Carolina Tarheels (#10 CFP; 11-3) 49-38 in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

The 645 yards the Bears gained through the ground set a new bowl record.

Ducks Knock Off Baylor Bears At Home

At Eugene, Oregon:

Chris Boucher and Elgin Cook each scored 15 points as the Oregon Ducks (#25 in the Associated Press poll; 2-0) knocked off the visiting Baylor Bears (#20 AP, #21 in the USA Today/Coaches poll; 1-1) 74-67 on Monday night offsetting 22 points from the Bears' Al Freeman.

Quarterback Connor Cook threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Keith Mumphrey with 17 seconds left and Michael Geiger added the extra point as the Michigan State Spartans (11-2) overcame a 20-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter and shocked the Baylor Bears (11-2) 42-41 in Thursday's 79th edition of the Cotton Bowl Classic.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: UCF Knights Hold Off Baylor In BCS Debut (And Swan Song)

At Glendale, Arizona:

Blake Bortles threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns (two---of 50 and 34 yards---Rannell Hall and one of ten yards to Breshad Perryman) and ran 15 yards for another score while running back Storm Johnson carried the ball 20 times for 124 yards and three more TDs (11, 2, and 40 yards) on Wednesday night as the Central Florida Knights (#15 in the Bowl Championship Series standings and both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 12-1) knocked off the Baylor Bears (#6 in both the BCS and AP rankings, #5 in the Coaches' poll; 11-2) 52-42 in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.  It was the BCS debut---and swan song---for both schools.

Nick Florence threw for two touchdowns and ran for another while running back Glasco Martin ran for three more scores as the Baylor Bears (8-5) dominated the UCLA Bruins (#17 in the Bowl Championship Series standings and the Associated Press poll, #19 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings; 9-5) 49-26 in Thursday's Holiday Bowl.

NCAA South: Kentucky To Get Final Four Showdown With Louisville

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 19 points while Anthony Davis scored 18 (and grabbed 11 rebounds) as top-seeded Kentucky (36-2), who led by 22 at halftime, coasted to an 82-70 victory over third-seeded Baylor (30-8) to win the final of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's South Regional at the Georgia Dome, despite 22 points from the Bears' Quincy Acy.  The Wildcats head now to their fifteenth Final Four and will face Louisville in a national semifinal contest this Saturday in New Orleans.

Alamo Bowl: RG3 Runs And Throws For TD In Possible Farewell As Bears Outgun Huskies In Offensive Slugfest

At San Antonio:


Running back Terrance Ganaway ran for 200 yards and five touchdowns on Thursday night as the Baylor Bears (10-3; #12 in the final BCS rankings) picked up their school record-tying tenth win of the season as they outlasted the Washington Huskies (7-6) 67-56 in the Alamo Bowl.  


In what may have been his final game in a Bears uniform, quarterback Robert Griffin III threw for one touchdown (11 yards to Kendall Wright) and ran for another (24 yards).


The 123 points scored Thursday night marked an NCAA record for most combined points scored in a bowl game in regulation time.  The 1,377 combined yards of total offense is also a new NCAA single-game bowl record.

Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, the humble son of two retired Army sergeants, beat out his Stanford counterpart Andrew Luck in winning the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night.  Alabama running back Trent Richardson finished third.


Mr Griffin became the first player from a private parochial school two bring home College Football's top individual honor since BYU's Ty Detmer in 1990.


RG III threw for more than 4000 yards and had a hand in 45 touchdowns for the 9-3 Bears.

Fighting Ilini Dominate Bears For First Bowl Win Since '99

At Houston:

Mikel Leshoure ran for 184 yards and three touchdowns as Illinois picked up their first postseason victory since 1999 with a 38-14 domination of Baylor (the Bears' first bowl appearance since 1995) in Wednesday's Texas Bowl.  Both teams finished the season at 7-6.
