Cactus Bowl: Mountaineers Top Sun Devils In Shootout As Bowl Season (Save For Alabama-Clemson) Concludes
At Phoenix, Arizona:
In the final collegiate football bowl contest prior to the January 11 National Championship game between Clemson and Alabama, quarterback Skyler Howard threw for a game-record 532 yards and hit David Sills with a 15-yard touchdown pass (his fifth) with 2:19 remaining in regulation as the West Virginia Mountaineers (8-5) defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils (6-7) 43-42 in the Cactus Bowl.
