Superman Helps Loons Top Timbers In Twin Cities

At Minneapolis:

Goals from Amobi Okugo (OG-7'), Christian Superman Ramirez (47'), and Abu Dunladi (64'; he would be ejected in the 70th minute via the red card) carried Minnesota United to a 3-2 Wednesday Major League Soccer home victory over the Portland Timbers in a match that saw both clubs reduced to ten men.

For the Timbers, Diego Valeri successfully converted a penalty kick in the 37th minute and Vytas had a pass deflect off the Loons' Francisco Calvo for an own goal in the 49th minute.

Portland's Sebastian Blanco was red carded out of the match in the 71st minute for his foot fight on the ground with the aforementioned Mr. Dunladi.

The Timbers will host the Seattle Sounders in a Cascadia Cup clash on Sunday at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (moved back from 1:00 PM Pacific Time due to heat concerns with the temperature expected to reach 95 degrees in the Rose City), to be telecast nationally over ESPN 2.
