NBA Finals: Cavs Stay Alive By Smothering Warriors, Cut Golden State's Series Lead To 3-1

At Cleveland:

In Friday's fifth game of the NBA Finals, Kyrie Irving (pictured here) scored 40 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers prevented the Golden State Warriors from completing an unprecedented 16-0 postseason run by dominating the guests 137-116 to cut the Warriors' advantage to three games to one.

LeBron James delivered a triple-double (31 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds) while Kevin Love added 23 points to help carry the Cavaliers, who scored 49 points in the first quarter and 86 in the opening half, both NBA playoff records.

Kevin Durant topped the Warriors with 35 points.

Golden State can still finish off the Cavaliers and wrap up their second NBA title in three years (and avenge their collapse in last year's title series) by winning game five back home in Oakland on Monday (6:00 PM Pacific Time, ABC).
